Feel Good News -Officer To Donate Kidney To 8-Year-Old Boy

From ABC:

A Wisconsin police officer is donating a kidney to an 8-year-old boy she's never met before.

Officer Lindsey Bittorf of the Milton Police Department was browsing Facebook when she came across a post by Jackson's Arneson's mother Kristi Goll, pleading for donors to help her son. (None of the family and friends who had been tested met the requirements.) Bittorf was touched by the story and decided to get tested. She ended up being a match and showed up at the couple's home last week to surprise them with the good news. "I took an oath to serve and protect our community, and now my kidney’s going to serve and protect you," she told Jackson.

Understandably, Jackson and his family are thrilled. "Jackson forever has his hero,” Goll wrote on Facebook. "Lindsey, I already feel so connected to you…and I’ve known you for a day. We cannot thank you enough for continuing Jackson’s journey with us.” Jackson and Bittorf are scheduled for transplant surgery on June 22.
