Fergie Slammed for National Anthem at NBA All-Star Game

Fergie is being criticized for performing a weird, slowed-down rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner" ahead of the NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Before the game, the singer approached the microphone in a a form-fitting, little black dress and put an unexpected bluesy spin on the anthem. During the performance, A-listers Chance the Rapper, Jimmy Kimmel and Tyler Perry were spotted looking thoroughly confused. All-Stars Joel Embiid and Draymond Green were also caught looking unimpressed.

Meanwhile, chuckling NBA commentator Charles Barkley asked his fellow panelists if they could talk about what they’d just seen. “Oh, stop, don’t do that. Leave my Fergie alone,” Shaquille O’Neal responded. “Fergie, I love you. It was different, it was sexy.” Undeterred, Barkley declared, "Damn right it was different."
