Selena Gomez Gets Stung By A Man O' War While Vacationing in Hawaii

Ahead of the release of her new album, Rare, Selena Gomez has been enjoying some R&R in Hawaii, but the pop titan encountered a speed bump during her visit.

Earlier this week, Gomez, 27, took to her Instagram Story to detail her recent week's trip, admitting that she's feeling a little under the weather. However, her vacation with friends was met with an unexpected creative, too. As per Entertainment Tonight, the superstar was relaxing on the beach on New Year's Day when she was stung by a Portuguese Man o'war. Similar to the jellyfish, the sting on humans is reportedly "excruciatingly painful, but rarely deadly." In photos obtained by the celebrity gossip outlet, Gomez could be seen sitting down and trying to tend to her injury. Later on, she hopped on a friend's back to be carried off the beach.

If you want more from Gomez, make sure you tune into her iHeartRadio Album Release Party in Los Angeles on January 9 — the evening before the LP drops. During the session, Selena will also give fans an intimate look into the details of Rare with an exclusive Q&A alongside KIIS FM's JoJo Wright. Fans can listen and tune in free for a stream on Thursday at 10pm ET via LivexLive.com through the LiveXLive mobile and OTT apps for iOS, Android, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung TV, and Apple TV.
