Justin Bieber Reveals He's Battling Lyme Disease

Justin Bieber has been quietly suffering from Lyme disease.

Wednesday afternoon (January 8), JB confirmed his diagnosis in an Instagram caption of TMZ's earlier report that said he would reveal that he's been battling the infectious disease, which is spread by ticks, in his upcoming 10-part YouTube docu-series, titled Justin Bieber: Seasons.

"While a lot of people kept saying justin Bieber looks like sh*t, on meth etc. they failed to realize I've been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease, not only that but had a serious case of chronic mono which affected my, skin, brain function, energy, and overall health," Justin wrote. "These things will be explained further in a docu series I'm putting on YouTube shortly.. you can learn all that I've been battling and OVERCOMING!!"

While the "Yummy" singer noted that "it's been a rough couple years" he said he's "getting the right treatment that will help treat this so far incurable disease and I will be back and better than ever."

In TMZ's earlier report, sources told the outlet that Justin went undiagnosed until late last year as doctors "struggled to figure out what was wrong with him." The insider added that the doctors inability to diagnosis Justin's symptoms led to him going into "extreme depression."

Despite his tough year, the source said the 25-year-old singer is doing much better, receiving the proper treatment and meds. They also noted that Justin is well enough to release an album and go on tour.

As fans know, JB released his comeback single, "Yummy," last week. He announced the track on Christmas Eve and additionally revealed that he will be releasing a docu-series, his fifth studio album, and going on a four-month North American tour in 2020.

Justin Bieber: Seasons airs on Youtube on January 27.
