Republican Candidate For Governor Brian Kemp Attends Election Night Event In Athens, Georgia

ATLANTA, GA (WGST) - Governor Brian Kemp has announced there are two confirmed cases of coronavirus in Georgia during a news conference late Monday.

The man had recently traveled to Italy.

Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Kathleen Toomey said that the man was not showing symptoms until he got back into the country and visited his doctor in Atlanta.

The two victims are in the same family and are being quarantined in the same home in Fulton County.

Kemp emphasized that there is no threat to the public at this time.
