An Atlanta Police Officer shot and killed a man on Friday night at a Wendy's Fast Food drive-thru.
According to the GBI, 27 year old Rayshard Brooks, of Atlanta was killed by police after he resisted arrest and grabbed for the officers taser.
Police were called to the Wendy's at 10:33pm on Friday for a man sleeping in his car in the drive thru lane. Other customers were being forced to drive around this vehicle. Officers arrived and gave the man a sobriety test, which he failed. Brooks resisted arrest and grabbed the officer's taser. An officer then shot him.
Brooks was taken to the hospital where he later died.
This comes after global protests in the police death of George Floyd, who died in police custody in Minneapolis.
Six APD officers are being charged with using excessive force on two college students during protests in downtown Atlanta.
