Clayton County officers are under fire today after a video of them holding five teenagers at gunpoint was posted online.
Activists are now calling for the termination of the officers involved in the stop.
Clayton County has released the body camera footage of the incident. Along with the video the police department said "what everyone is seeing is a small portion of the entire incident."
According to the report, police were called to the 500 block of Flint River Road around 7:15pm where teens were allegedly stealing from the location and waving around a gun. A second 911 call came in shortly after saying that the teens had moved into the parking lot, playing with a gun and fighting. On that call, police were given a description of the teens.
Police began to canvas the area in the direction they were seen leaving and stopped the group in the video.
Clayton County PD said, "due to the allegation that the juveniles were in possession of a gun, the officer approached them with his duty weapon drawn and pointed at the juveniles. The officer lowered the weapon once the juveniles complied with the officer’s verbal commands to stop and show their hands."
