Heidi Montag Claims Lady Gaga Sabotaged Her Music Career

Reality star Heidi Montag is claiming she could have been a big pop star had it not been for Lady Gaga.

“People are, like, ‘I love Lady Gaga,’ and I’m sure she’s great, but I have not had the best encounter with her,” she said in an interview with the “Unpopular with Jacques Peterson” podcast.

Heidi says that ahead of the release of her 2010 debut, Heidi was working with producer RedOne, who was also working with Gaga. RedOne got permission from Gaga to let Heidi record the song “Fashion” which Gaga wrote, and she says she got the “impression” that it was now her song.

But apparently that wasn’t really the case. According to Heidi, when producers of the film “Confessions of a Shopaholic” wanted the song for their soundtrack, Gaga took the song back and wound up recording it for the album.

“She did not want me working with RedOne and she told RedOne she wouldn’t work with him anymore if I kept working with him,” Heidi claims. “And he’s like, ‘I’m sorry. She’s my writing partner for huge things,’” noting, “We even went out to dinner with him several times and we were hanging out with him and she pulled the cord.”

Gaga went on to work with RedOne on such songs as "Just Dance,” “Bad Romance,” “Alejandro,” “Judas” and more. Heidi, who called Gaga a “hater,” noted, “So of course she’s not going to want to share that when at that moment I was a potential rival for what she was doing.”
