Families throughout metro Atlanta will have the opportunity to schedule primary care appointments and back-to-school physicals free of charge at select local McDonald’s restaurants this summer thanks to the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Care Mobile summer tour. The tour officially kicks off on Wednesday, June 1 at the McDonald’s located at 3334 Clairmont Road in Atlanta.
Staffed by clinicians from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding, the Care Mobile fills a major gap for medical services as it rotates among nearly 30 Atlanta Public Schools, serving hundreds of kids each month during the school year. Mainly providing asthma care, this 40-foot long, 8-foot-wide van is a fully functioning medical clinic and has helped decrease the number of missed school days and hospital visits.
In partnership with local Atlanta based McDonald’s franchisees, the RMHC Care Mobile Summer Tour will visit 10 select local McDonald’s restaurants to bring that same level of care to students and families within their local neighborhoods. The Care Mobile will provide pediatric primary care services including immunizations, ear, eye, dental screenings, asthma screenings & sports / back-to-school physicals for kids and teens, ages four and older. Additionally, McDonald’s employee’s will have the opportunity to invite their families & loved ones to take advantage of the pediatric care services available at no-cost.

The Care Mobile Summer Tour will kick off at the McDonald’s located at 3334 Clairmont Road, Atlanta, GA 30329 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Select community partners will have a presence at the event with more details to come. All children will receive a complimentary McDonald’s ice cream cone upon completion of their pediatric care visit.
