Margot Robbie & Birds Of Prey Co-Stars Surprise Fans With Autograph Signing

Margot Robbie and her Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) co-stars took to NYCC for a surprise appearance right next to the film's costume display. Robbie, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Ella Jay Basco and Rosie Perez drew a large crowd as they posed next to several iterations of the famed DC character. Unfortunately, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Ewan McGregor were not present. In addition to the photo-op, the crew also appeared at the DC booth for some autograph signing. Set for release on February 7, 2020, Birds of Prey lets viewers in on what happened when Harley decides to leave the Joker. In this film, she makes the decision to do some good for the city of Gotham, alongside some friendly female cohorts.

Riverdale Teases Season 4, Remembers The Late Luke Perry

Riverdale returns to The CW this week for its fourth season, so it only made sense that the wild times of the teens would hit NYCC. Per Deadline, a portion of the cast's panel fell on remembering the late Luke Perry, who passed away while the season was in production. "For me, it was very cathartic," Molly Ringwald, who plays Perry's character's ex-wife, admitted of their upcoming tribute episode. "I think we all dealt with it in different ways. I didn't get to go to Luke’s memorial so [this episode] was really like my good-bye to him. It was kind of what I needed. He was my guy. It felt like a nice good-bye for me."

Perry's passing will unfold in the season premiere of the show and is also incorporated into the storyline. "It was very difficult for us all," Skeet Ulrich, who plays F.P. Jones, admitted. "To me, in some ways, it meant reliving something incredibly painful. We felt the need and the want [to pay him tribute]. But I don’t think any of us wanted to live in that again—[the first episode of the season was] a beautiful episode, but incredibly hard to perform."

AMC Announces Third Walking Dead Series For 2020

NYCC was treated to AMC's big announcement about the third Walking Dead series, which currently remains untitled. For this installment of the franchise, viewers become acquainted with a new generation of survivors, who have grown up 10 years after the zombie apocalypse took over the world and decide to conquer the wild outside of their university-like area called NSU. The new series, which is scheduled to premiere in spring 2020, stars Aliyah Royale (The Red Line), Alexa Mansour (Unfriended: Dark Web), Annet Mahendru (The Americans), Nicolas Cantu (The Amazon World of Gumball), Hal Cumpston (Bilched) and Nico Tortorella (Younger).

Skydance Interactive and Skybound Entertainment Unveils First Trailer for The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners

Speaking of The Walking Dead, Skydance Interactive and Skybound Entertainment unveiled the first official (and chilling) trailer for their upcoming Saints & Sinners game, which gives players a look at the wasteland that's in store for them in the New Year. Set for release on January 23, 2020, the virtual reality game places players in the city of New Orleans, where they must use their own judgement to fight against much more than walkers. To lean into the virtual reality component to the game, creators worked hard to intensify the stakes of the missions. Not only does the game offer endless amount of choices in sub-story plots, but it also pits players against disease and non-walkers as they make their way through the city.

Amazon Prime's The Expanse Hits NYCC With Interstellar Experience

In promotion for their fourth season, which premieres December 13, Amazon Prime's original The Expanse brought attendees closer to the series, inviting them into the Rocinante spaceship. While inside of the aircraft, visitors were encouraged to take a closer look at the ship and partake in shareable photobooth experiences with actual props from the show like the Martian armor and captain's chair. Elsewhere at the activation, the folks behind the experience put wardrobe and props from previous seasons up for display as fans waited in line to enter the activation. Additionally, castmates Cas Anvar, Florence Faivre, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Wes Chatham, Burn Gorman, and Steven Strait also paid a visit to the hot-spot.
