Miley Cyrus participated in a brand-new âCarpool Karaokeâ on Tuesdayâs âLate Late Showâ with James Corden. Watch the video above!
As is well-known by now, âCarpool Karaokeâ consists of Corden driving around with a music artist, singing songs, answering questions and getting into hijinks. For Cyrusâ installment, they sang the pop starâs songs both old and new, including âWe Canât Stop,â âThe Climb,â âYounger Now,â âMalibu,â and âParty in the U.S.A.â She admitted to Corden sheâs a terrible driver and crashed into the sound trailer at âThe Voice.â
At one point, the late-night host noted that Cyrus doesnât have her tongue out these days as much as she has in years past. That led to a funny moment where he had the former child star keep her mouth open just so she could lick stamps for him. Corden then asked her whether she was high or not during different moments in her life. Cyrus said she was not high at the VMAs or the first time she heard her dadâs song, âAchy Breaky Heart.â The singer, however, confessed to being really high when shooting the video for âWrecking Ball.â After that, Cyrus and Corden broke into a spirited rendition of the song.
The past two weeks have been big for Cyrus fans. To celebrate the release of her new album, Younger Now, âThe Tonight Showâ hosted âMiley Week On Fallon,â which culminated in Cyrus and Jimmy Fallon competing in a âLip Sync Battle.â And twice weekly, sheâs been seen as a coach on season 13 of âThe Voice.â In fact, as Gossip Cop reported earlier Tuesday, Cyrus made history when Megan Rose joined her team, making the first all-female team in the history of the NBC competition. She tweeted after the moment aired, âThatâs RIGHT! #TeamMiley is #TeamWoman this season! I have fierce & powerful women on my team & we are about to take it to the next level!â
On the âLate Show,â Cyrusâ âCarpool Karaokeâ edition follows that of the Foo Fighters, who were featured last month. The band then surprised many by bad-mouthing the experience. Speaking with NME in an interview released only days ago, Pat Smear said, âBy hour three in dudeâs car it got less fun. It kinda went on. When we stopped at Guitar Centre, that felt like we were done, but it was like âthis is halfway.ââ Dave Grohl also called it a âlittle uncomfortable,â but deemed Corden a âvery nice guy.â
While the Foo Fighters may not be back for another round, superstars like Justin Bieber and Harry Styles have already done multiple versions. And Cyrus appeared to be have a lot of fun during her turn as a passenger in Cordenâs car.
