Some People Are So Turned Off By Christmas Music

There are those who turn on the Christmas music as soon as November 1st hits and there are those who consider such an act to be a cardinal sin. While admitting you’re not into Christmas music sounds kind of cynical, but it’s not uncommon.

A 2011 Consumer Report survey about “holiday woes” reported that 23% of people dread seasonal music — just one percent less than "seeing certain relatives."Ouch.Clinical psychologist Linda Blair says that for some, Christmas music can serve as a trigger or a reminder of work that needs to be done or presents that need to be bought, ultimately creating pressure.

Basically, as with any type of music, what we associate with it determines our feelings towards it. Blair adds that the repetition of these songs can also annoy people, which on its own is enough for all the disdain.
